The real macaw

This dog at the over priced hotel would make a perfect mate for my mum and Nick's dog Fergus

Mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairest off them all - it appears to be Ralph!

capuchins in the rafters

This Macaw came into the dining area every morning for his banana.

The macaw going for a stroll

Our guide for the Corcovado trip, Roger, was great and kindly took us out to his local birding spot by his house the day before the trip - although Fiona seemed just as excited about his new puppies as the prospect of new bird species.

My money is on te brown one to win

Roger had a really nice scope and special camera attachment (this wasn't taken with it) so we got some fantastic pictures on our trip

We had seen many chestnut billed toucans but had failed to get any pictures before this - you never get bored of seeing them

Further away there were a group of toucans fighting which was very entertaining

That gladiator spider!! Amazing with its cool little rectangular net trap! Thanks so much for including that clip.

Give us the address: we'll send Fergus. By the end of your travels you should easily have enough material for that epic work the world has been waiting for: "Los Perros de America Central". Birds - yeah, saw a few....
