shell shocked

We had three days in Drake bay and it is fair to say it is one of the hottest places we have been to.

Not content with sweating profusely during the day we decided to walk up another hill in the afternoon - the view was good.

We thought we would be good and try and go with the tour company most obviously run by local people for our days snorkelling.

It turned out to be a bit more hassle than we'd hoped.  We spend the early evening trekking up and down hill, crossing this precarious bridge twice in the dark in search of a credit card machine to pay for our snorkelling trip as the one at their office was broken. Having failed to find one and back at the top of the hill Faustino announced we needed to go back again at which point Ralph threw a wobbly and refused to pay until the morning.

another Cody look a like met us on the beach as we waited for our boat

Off to Cano island - there was a very small area to snorkel and we only spend a couple of hours there

There was a strange cruise ship in the bay that had rigging but no sign of sails

Tali-boating, I had burnt my neck the day before so made sure I covered up and looked fashionable

The national park regulations meant we had to have a life jacket when snorkelling - I ended up tying mine to my hand as it was too annoying

The wide variety of hermit crab shell shapes and sizes was astounding

Jesus Christ lizard - you should see what it can do with a loaf and a fish

An idyllic beach on Cano Island where we had lunch and a swim

a joint installation by Ralph and Fiona

Can you spot the crab in the centre of the photo?
