Down in Diego

After an epic 14 hour bus and train journey from San Fransisco, we made it to San Diego where it was pouring with rain (this is California what's going on?) and were greeted by Ralph's cousin Christina who explained that it rains when English people come to visit.

First stop on Christina's rigorously planned San Diego tour - the "In and Out Burger", as seen in (Ralph's all time favourite film) the Big Lebowski. Fiona was chastised by a manager in plain clothes who strangley argued that photographs taken inside were a safety risk.

Yum the first of many In-n-Out burgers, they have a "secret" menu that isn't listed - 'animal style' can be requested to get a big mac-esque sauce

We went to the coast for sunset on our second day, just next to the paragliding centre (sorry center)

A classic

Cactus mime, a lost art form.  There was a fantastic cacti and succulent garden just outside Balboa park where all the museums are.

In Balboa Park.

Christina tool us to Hash House a go go, a crazy place where the meals were bigger than our heads, shamefully Ralph actually ate all of his!

Another cousin Zac with his over sized salad

Fiona's french toast with banana was amazing

We went on the rickety wooden roller coaster - it was great fun, if a big jolting
