Once we got back to San Diego we met up with Alan, the really nice photographer that we met on our Kodiak bear trip. He was kind enough to take us to the world famous San Diego zoo, and even kinder to give us his free passes!
The Indonesian bear cat or binturong is an amazing animal that look like a cat but has a prehensile tail like a monkey.

Giant panda Gao Gao a 19 year old adult male. We only got to see the youngster, 2 year old Zun Li for a second before he was enticed behind the scenes and the door shut behind him!

A future in science for Zac?
Having worked at the zoo years ago and being a frequent visitor to the zoo Alan showed us an easily unnoticed restaurant near the gorilla enclosure, here we had great food and margaritas to round off the day.
