Volcano Arenal, Fiona (although the observant of you will have realised the photo is of Ralph) got to do her job application in a scenic location during our day there, as a reward we went to the hotsprings in the afternoon
Volcan Arenal as represented by gallo pinto (rice and beans) at breakfast
We splashed out ha ha - with a trip to some hot springs at Tabacon. A year ago volcano Arenal stopped erupting which is a real shame as before you could sit in the hot springs at night and watch glowing lava on the sides of the volcano!
There was a 'wet bar' sounds a little strange but just means one side is directly connected to the pool
Ralph sitting on a barstool in the pool
Ralph demonstrating the waterfall pool, if you sit behind the waterfall its like being in a sauna!
Note the now normal toes on Ralph's foot
This sign worried us slightly as when we went past it as we thought it might indicate the swingers area - luckily it didn't, just no noisy children
Fancy watermelon - Dinner was included with the hotsprings
Quick trip to a Soda in the central market for a casado........
....then we had to rush to our appointment to get our doctors certificate to say we are fit to travel on the containership with no doctor. Luckily San Jose is very small so we could walk everywhere we needed to go, just so long as we were vigilant for missing manhole covers and home before dark.
A pretty plaza in a town between San Jose and La Fortuna with a famous topiary park in front of the church.
